The video is a little our of date as the desth toll has climbed. But this video really shows how much #KyoAni meant to the #anime #lightnovel #manga industry and people as a whole. They did great things for workers, artists, society as a whole and gave us great stories.
No one deserved this. But this is even more harsh given just how much they worked against abusive practices in the industry. Like unreasonable crunch times, staff pay, benefits, and gender equality.
And we now know the person who MURDERED these talented people was not an employee.
Shinji Aobe a disgruntled 40 something with a previous criminal record, who thought the studio ripped off his novel... ...even if they "might" have, which I doubt beyond belief...how the FUCK does that give you any right to do this!? Also all the work, including the likes of the 2nd season of the much loved #MissKobayashisDragonMaid and the #FreeAnime.
This is a huge loss. One I don't think the industry and fans will easily recover from. But even more the victims who survived and the friends and family or all those involved will carry this for the rest of their lives.
Hideaki Hatta the company president has said he is planning on tearing the building down and building a memorial park, with a monument in memory of the victims.
