TEACHER TALK 👨🏻🏫 For those who don’t know, my gorgeous fiancé is a high school teacher. He loves what he does but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few stressful days!
One of the biggest stresses he has faced has had nothing to do with the job itself but rather the positions, or lack there of! Sean graduated in 2017 and got a graduate position right out which was amazing, however half way though last year realised his contract wouldn’t be renewed and had to start the job search all over again! 😓
It was hard to watch my man, as well as his friends who are talented and love their work struggle to find positions. We were gearing up to start this search again soon.
Thankfully Sean was offered an ongoing contract this week which means he is officially in a stable position for the rest of his career! He was lucky to be at a school where an ongoing position opened up to give him this opportunity. Unfortunately not the same can be said for a lot of other young teachers. The stress of finding their footing at a new school and having to then search for a new job is tough, all I can say is I respect everything they’re doing and their resilience and tenacity to keep educating tomorrow’s generation. 💜
I know Sean’s challenges as a teacher are not over, it’s a character building job to say the least but I am glad he has this stability so he can focus even more of his energy on teaching ☺️ #iamgratefulfor this goal being ticked off our big list ✅
Bonus #gratitude I am finished with the backlog and can start focus more on my daily posts again 😀
