“What’s your biggest mistake?” or “What’s the one thing you’ve done that you regret the most?” __________________________________________
Asked these two questions to the entire group of CHP REPS...the goal was to get everyone to be transparent and not hide behind the perfect filtered world we see on social media. The goal was to get each person to share something they might not otherwise share. Everyone took turns writing their response on the chalk board. Once everyone was done, I read several of the answers off the board. The answers ranged from “being someone different in front of their friends”, “lying”, “cursing”, “bullying”, “falling away from God” and the list kept going.
I shared with everyone that we are all imperfect people...we all make mistakes and do the wrong thing at times...however, we don’t have to be defined by those wrong doings. Our identity is found in Jesus. He died for all of our sins...all of our mistakes and regrets. He wants a personal relationship with each one of us if we are willing to accept Him into our life as Lord and Savior. The enemy wants us to feel unworthy but Jesus wants us to know He has paid our debt on the cross for all of our sins. He has given us a clean slate...a new chalkboard if you will...everything erased and gone because of Him.
If you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus I challenge you to talk to someone today about who Jesus is and how you can accept Him into your life. Praying for each one of these students involved in CHP this year to encounter Christ and grow their relationship with Him.
