A back story: Yonder started as merely a thought, a thought that manifested into soooo many thoughts, lasting 4 years. Those thoughts developed into plans and goals but with no real timeline. It was something we just knew we’d do one day...not sure how, in what location of the South, or when. Alan and I both shared a deep passion of wanting to change the way people thought about food and instead of just talking about it all the time, we wanted to educate with tangible ingredients, an amazing atmosphere that was solely ours, and change whatever community we ended up in. And it wasn’t always thoughts of a full on restaurant - it could’ve been creating a cooking class series, writing a book, private chef, grocery store, etc. But, within 6 months of moving to the WNC mountains, Yonder came to be...naturally. We put in the work, designed the space, built the space, designed the menu, hired some folks and hoped to the universe that folks would come through the door. A year and a half later, we have lines out the door Thursday through Sunday, the best staff ever, an abundance of fresh, organic food from our community and surrounding counties, feelings of accomplishments and purpose, huge amounts of support, and new growth.
Do what you love. Set goals. Never make excuses. Manifestation of thoughts is real, so make them good thoughts. Enjoy your days. 💕😎🙌💯🍳🥓🍔🍯🤠
