Played around today with 1 1/2 squats at 165 lbs. These are killer, I don’t recommend. 💀 Followed it up with an AMRAP set at 165, probably could have gotten 12 but my cardio base is nonexistent right now soooooo I ran out of breath. 😂 Lastly did some Zerchers at 155 lbs. Shout out to this chick whose lifting today at the @gpcaustralia Nationals. What an inspiration. Watching other people work hard to achieve goals is the biggest motivation you get. And that is what i love about this sport. It doesnt discriminate. Everyone wants everyone to succeed. Reminiscing about the #stronger start to my Saturday with Coach @rapcharlo: Worked with some chunky numbers again! 😍 3 x 3 at 175lbs for back squats, followed by a heavy deadlift set of 255lbs for 2, and 3 x 4 paused deads at 205lbs. That was one of my Mommas old sayings and like so many of them, it took me some hard years, screw ups and heartache to fully understand what she really meant.

Trained early today. Hit a lifetime close grip bench PR triple 🍾🎉 and we packed up and all went to the New River Gorge for some underground kayaking in what used to be an old mine. Crystal clear water, fish everywhere... no way to for words or hell even pictures to do it justice. Definitely a bucket list experience.

We ate too much, laughed until my face hurt, and went home with a full ❤️. I used to be one of those people who’d think “ I’ll be happy when I achieve this, earn this, or finish that.” But somewhere along that way it changed and I realized who and what I have now at this very moment. Flawed as I am, sure felt like the luckiest woman in the world today.

I set goals for myself a few months ago and I wasn’t leaving until I achieved each one. 
950lbs+ squat ✔️ (953lbs)
700lbs+ bench ✔️ (705lbs)
635lbs+ deadlift ✔️ (644lbs)
2,300lb+ total ✔️(2,302lbs)
This is not just a hobby for me. I show up to meets and expect to win and represent myself and my gym the best I can. The Westside night crew took 1st (@anthonycw13 <— he’s like really strong) and 3rd (me) in the 275lb weight class and dominated each time we stepped in the platform. If you’re not with us, you’re against us and you don’t want these problems. 
I can’t thank Joe (he’s old and doesn’t have IG😂) and the rest of the night crew for their help and support. Although this is an individual sport, it’s often a team effort. 
Now it’s time to start training so I can achieve one of my ultimate goals. The 1,000lb squat 😈

I'm speechless. Just speechless. I don't know how to feel. I have never successfully done this before. Not only did  I achieve what I set out for 9/9 & and a 260lb, and a 250lbs squat..... I made a total meet PR OF 53LBS!! Not too brag, but I DID GOOD. Like my lifts we're solid! 🤩. .

Some people look up to superheroes or their parents or someone positive in their life. @bigscboy and the @strength_cartel helped me with somethings in my life I never thought id shake off. But these vatos definitely showed me how to power through all the bs and break those barriers. It’s more than just Youtube videos, more than just power lifting. You have to challenge yourself to better yourself, and if you fail it’s alright just get back up and hit that sh*t harder! I thank you guys and appreciate you fellas very much. I was definitely being a fan girl today! I’ve been following these ladies for awhile and they are an inspiration to me in my journey in powerlifting! Hopefully one day soon I’ll be competing ( the USPA meet August 3rd 😉) and they will be there to cheer and motivate me! Watching them handle and cheer their lifters on today as well as every other competitor is what I’ve been looking for at a meet! My journey is just beginning and I’m chasing records! Yesterday was my worst session of this training block (11th week on powerlifting specific training). My strength & endurance lacked, no matter how much my mind was in the session, my physical performance wasn’t up to scratch, this was due to poor sleep & diet the day before. I put on my Instagram story that today I’d come back stronger & I did just that. 
The thing is, when something isn’t going right or you have done something wrong & it’s in your power to change it, you can’t just expect it to change by itself, sometimes you need to ‘give yourself a slap in the face’ to wake yourself up, because we all slip up some days, no matter how much your heart is in it, we all have those days. 
First of all you HAVE TO figure out what’s wrong by analysing each and every little thing, you then need to accept that it’s wrong and analyse the problems it’s causing/things it’s preventing you from doing, finally you’re in charge to create a solution, not your friend and not your family, YOU! Create a solution that guarantees you don’t make the same mistakes twice (don’t drink 1000 calories of protein and complex carbs 30 minutes before training 😉). Remain focused and turn your losses into wins.

▪️...20 minutes later: .
▪️Spontaneous 495 for reps (6) as a top set today. 
Ive lost touch with sumo. My starting position, my leverages...most things have slipped from me. .
.▪️After we all finished @zachhomol took us through a lot of pointers that i need to reapply. .
▪️Goal is to always get better!
. .▪️I’m retiring sumo again tho! OFFICIALLY ...til next time 😁🤙🏽 .

Strength done improperly is like a compass off by two degrees - it is fine at the start, but give it a few years and you are thousands of miles off. When I say "assured injury reduction" - I mean when you are choosing strength, not hunting PBs like mad, with no respect for your body. As much as some might want me to "back these claims up with evidence" - some things are simply truisms, obvious truths. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ There is no need for us to throw our researcher hats on, and hunt abstracts and conclusions to know these points. It is applicable to all people, as we all get injuries, we all have lives, we all have a physiology. We all either get stronger, or we get weaker. There is no limbo. If you are neutral about strength, you're probably getting weaker.
