Building a strong posterior chain is important for many reasons.
•If you suffer from LBP (low back pain): when your posterior chain is working effectively you can dramatically reduce back pain.
•Preparing for a good quality of life: By training for the ability to continue ADLs (activities of daily living) efficiently, and laying down a strong foundation to slow down profession of sarcopenia (the degenerative loss of muscle mass with age).
•Athleticism and performance: the posterior chain is the powerhouse of the body. They are all the muscles on the backside of your body. Glutes, hamstrings, erector spinae, calves, delts, traps and more. Building these muscles provides a strong foundation that directly translates to strength gains in other lifts, especially full body, multi-joint compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and bench, for example.
•Aesthetics. Having a balanced physique and wanting to look good (nothing wrong with that😊).
-DB RDLs superset with heavy DB sumo deadlifts
-Hip thrusts into glute bridges superset with banded kickbacks.
-Stability ball leg curls superset with frog pumps.
*Adding bands really helps to keep the glutes firing. (LBP can cause disruptions in motor neuron signals to the glutes, which is an issue that I have).
