TRICEP PUSP UP 💪🏼
Time for a confession while av got your attention.
I hated these. I hated them cause I couldn’t do them.
If you are looking to improve your tricep push ups here are 3 different variations for you to try
𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟏 - 𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐒 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐒
Here you are more supported. As shown in the video, hands under shoulders, lift belly to spine, spine in neutral, squeeze core, bend at the elbow & bring them close to the floor tucked close to the side of your body.
𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟐 - 𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝗪𝐀𝐘 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐒
Here you will have less support than option 1. You will notice now the body weight is more forward & it’s a visible ‘down & up’ motion.
Same safety cues - hands under shoulders, belly to spine, core engaged, bum will need to squeeze tight, elbows close to side body, chest to elbow level.
𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟑 - 𝐎𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐓𝐎𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐆𝐎 𝐃𝐎𝗪𝐍 & 𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐔𝐒𝐇 𝐔𝐏
I love this variation. If you are not 100% ready to try a full Tricep push up on the toes no problem - Do this option to get a feel for it & build strength & confidence.
Control the down & when the chest hits that elbow level, drop the knees down to assit you in coming back up.
Bigger glute & core squeeze required. Ensure you lower the body controlled & as one don't let the hips drop.
𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟒 - 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐎𝐄𝐒
It starts with just 1. Then you manage 2, then you manage 3 & so on.
Again, body moves down & up as one no hips dropping.
With each variation think about pressing the hands down firmly into the floor.
