A-
As convincing as 292,600,004 articles on google are, there really isn’t such a thing as a ‘fat loss’ food.⠀
⠀
All food we digest contains energy, which means all foods contribute to our calorie total for the day ⚡️This isn’t a ‘bad’ thing - it’s how you survive, live your life and have the inclination to read my excessively long Instagram captions.⠀
⠀
Fat-loss simply occurs when across time, you are eating LESS calories (energy) than you’re using through activity (such as living said life, scrolling down my captions etc.)⠀
⠀
That being said; at the cost of actually making this tiny square useful beyond ‘lol everything ! ! !’, eating in a calorie deficit with a diet which;⠀ 1. is relatively high in protein (to promote mostly fat-loss vs muscle loss.)
2. is fairly micronutrient dense (so you don’t feel shitty and get ill. Cus that’s not conducive for fat-loss.)
3. is still inclusive of lower protein, less filling, less micronutrient dense foods you love. Just in appropriate amounts (so you are still nailing 1 and 2, but within your deficit.)
4. is bloody sensible. Cutting your kcals stupidly low will make standing up feel as exhausting as 4 sets of deadlifts. Let alone having energy to do 4 sets of deadlifts.⠀

There’s no universal ‘best’ food for weight loss. It’s too simplistic to say low calorie foods or whole foods are best. And retrospectively, that all higher calorie foods or processed foods are ‘bad’.⠀

I have been giving excuses all my life and had low self esteem so much that I had started hating to look in the mirror at one point of my life. I tried all fad diets, slimming centers, pulled some weight down and gained back double and then SQUATS happened! I realized this was no rocket science, I was eating and losing weight instead of skipping meals contrary to the starving approach I had been following all my life. I gave in my 100 percent and trusted my coach, learned the correct way to a healthy lifestyle and here I am, a completely new person physically and mentally much more stronger. The right guidance and honest efforts can create magic, but its only you who can do it, no one else can do it for you . My coach was always available and cleared my diet and exercise related doubts, He was there to motivate me when I felt stressed about a slight weight gain or even an emotional breakdown.. He was constantly pushing me towards my goals, by sending motivational messages everyday to make sure i keep my focus on. LHS: Early 2018... this is the first time I ever felt confident enough to take a photo in the gym. Before this the only my boyfriend knew I had started training (& for a few months now)
RHS: This was the other day and I guess I was feeling myself 😂

What’s changed?
📌 LHS: I had already started buying gym clothes I *wanted* to wear but I was too insecure about my body so kept it completely covered up
📌 RHS: After months of putting off creating a fitness based insta account because my “body wasn’t good enough” I decided f it, I’ll make a page because I feel like making a page
📌 LHS: I was learning a lot about foods. Learning carbs aren’t the devil and red meat isn’t “good” just because it has protein. Realising my daily Tropicana was piling sugar into my body 😢... was counting calories
📌 RHS: If it ain’t “bad”, I’ll eat as much as I want of it thank you 🤤 no tracking nuthin’. Eating leaner meats, lots of fish, carbs and more veggie meals
📌 LHS: I was falling in love with how the gym made me feeeel
📌 RHS: Working out is now totally integrated into my lifestyle

⚠️ Carbohydrates have been demonized by mainstream thinking, for years now.

💯 While highly processed carbs (starches & sugars) are certainly not ideal for our overall health, consuming carbohydrates in our diets is absolutely okay...no matter what time it is.
.
🔑 Living mostly on refined carbs will leave you with high blood sugars & low energy...so aim for more wholesome forms (veggies, fruits, yogurt, nuts, seeds). That along with adequate proteins & fats are optimal.
.
📚 Consuming carbohydrates in the morning, afternoon or night makes absolutely NO difference.
.
🤓 As I’m showing your here with avocado toast, if you want to consume a meal with carbs at night, go for it. As long as you’re within your daily caloric intake goals, you’ll be on track for weight/fat loss.

Have not uploaded in a while, I have been so busy with moving home and finishing my first year of uni, exams were stressful but got through and excited to go back in September. Hope your all well, here is a little fitness update. I dont look at the scale, this is because as I gained muscle, I  gained weight, obviously, so it is not always a good measurement. But in terms in fat loss, I have lost a lot. I feel so much healthier, and happier, not just with how I look, but how I feel. De linkerfoto’s zijn eind 2017 gemaakt. Ik zat in een moeilijke periode en zorgde niet goed voor mezelf. Ik wilde me niet meer ongemakkelijk voelen in mijn eigen lijf en vond daarom dat de knop om moest. ⠀⁣⠀⁣⠀⠀

Ik viel al snel wat kilo’s af, maar ik kon totaal niet genieten van de progressie die ik maakte. Ik was ontzettend streng en verbood mezelf van alles. Toen ik Personal Body Plan tegenkwam wist ik niet of het wel iets voor mij was. Ik studeer geneeskunde en betwijfelde of het wel in mijn drukke leven zou passen. Maar wat ben ik blij dat ik uiteindelijk toch de stap heb genomen!⠀⁣⠀⁣⠀⠀

De rechterfoto’s zijn nu, in 2019. Ik heb de goede mindset gevonden en zit lekkerder in mijn vel dan ooit! Ik ben dol op taarten en koekjes bakken en kan daar nu ook echt van genieten. Ik sta met plezier in de sportschool, ondanks mijn drukke en onregelmatige werktijden. En bovenal heb ik geleerd om te genieten van het proces! ⠀⁣⠀⁣⠀⠀

Rosemary lemon chicken patties & creamy double Parmesan cauliflower mash with sautéed collard greens & broccolini. Fast, easy & wow did I just make the same dish twice in one month? Rare, but it’s tasty.

For the chicken: Add 1lb chicken mince to a bowl with 2tbsp sour cream, 1tsp chopped fresh rosemary, 2tsp kosher salt (not regular teaspoons! Baking teaspoons), 1tsp cayenne pepper, 2tsp garlic paste, zest of a lemon. Side note: some preserved lemon paste in there (1tsp) does wonders for the flavor, as does chopped fresh chives). Divide into 4, sear in a pan with olive oil over med-high for 5-8 minutes per side. .
For the cauliflower: Simmer 1/2 head (6 cups)of cauliflower in salted water until soft, drain and then place into a food processor with 2tbsp grass-fed butter, 2tbsp heavy cream, 1/2 cup fine parmesan & a pinch of nutmeg. Purée until smooth - Sometimes passing it through a sieve makes it even better. Serves 4. .
