It's not just about celebrating for us during pride month, it's so much more than others see.
Personally pride month to me is about being united with the lgbt+ community. We all have our cliques within this already small community. The rest of the year we often fight eachother more than we actually do for our own rights. Don't get me wrong, we unite when there is a fight among the majority of our community, but we lack standing united as a whole for every person within it.
Whenever I attend pride, I often see the love we share and those insignificant bickering amongst us tend to be put on pause. We gather together proud, supporting local lgbt+ businesses, charities, and showing visibility as a whole to the world. We even let loose from the troubles we face in our daily lives for that mere 3 days at a pride parade event.
I can go on and on and on about how pride is more than what you see on social media or marketing ads. But I'll end it on this note.
We all want to be treated as equals amongst society, we don't ask for special rights, just EQUAL ones. Go out and celebrate and show the world we exist. Show them our community comes in all shapes and colors. Whether you like to drink, dance, have a small get togethers with close friends, the movies, home cooked meals, go camping, gaming, travelling etc.. do it proudly this month. Live your life proudly. ❤🌈🦄
