Daily 3 Card Pull (5/21/19) (9 of Staves, 18 - Moon, Queen of Blades)
Rita (1st Card)
Card for 5-21-19 is: Nine of Staves
We must conquer our fears if we want to win the prize. After all, what is a rickety old rotten wooden bridge over a pit of fire to those who seek? I guess the real question is, what is the real prize? The girl? Or the winding crooked path?
Kevin (2nd Card)
18 - Moon
This is a dense card with a great deal going on in it. In the foreground is a cauldron over a fire hanging from a tripod of three woods: oak, ash, and thorn. To the the left side of the cauldron is a black hen with 6 chicks next to a strand of wheat, a millstone and a sickle. To the right, a basket of Hazel nuts and a white sow suckling her piglets. Behind them are two dolmen arches, the one on the left bearing a black scarab on the lintel stone, and the one on the right a crab. The portals of Death and Life? In the background three animals meet at the water's edge: a wolf, a dog, and a salmon, each with it's mouth open and looking at the moon in the sky that drips 23 drops of mana as the winds whip and stir. The Lady of the moon holds the tail of a dragon of the winds as the dragons pull her and the Moon along in the sky.
This is a Sinistral (moving away from established Divine Order) major arcana card of the Southwest (the heights and depths of the potential of humanity) bearing the spirits of the Moon (magic, change, evolution) and the number 18 (control and mediation in the realm of the Divine, the altar of the Divine). Context is key here, where everything changes and looks different each time you see it. The Mysteries are calling to those who can hear. Will you respond? Love is Her name, but what do we truly know of Love?
Mark (3rd Card)
Queen of Blades
The Queen is dancing over crossed blades (saber and bastard sword)? within a circle of mushrooms. She is playing a tambourine while a sickle dangles upon her hip. Her throne is behind her up on a cliff. Or, is that the King's empty chair? To me she appears to be dancing on a hill top, because it rounded and appears to have grass growing on it. This is a Dark Moon card.
